The first 90 minutes of the game ended with 1-1, scored by Alex Morgan in 69th minute, followed by Aya Miyama in the 81st minute. The match continued to extra time and USA scored their second goal by Amby Wambach. Japanese players fought very hard till they got the draw when Homare Sawa scored their important goal to tie up the scores.
